2020 has been very overwhelming to say the least. In January my mom got sick with a blood clot in her lungs and other diabetic complications. Then in March a global Covid-19 pandemic happened across the country. By April many states including my home state of New York went into a lockdown/quarantine. During the quarantine I was forced to change my plans to open my new stage play Karma. I decided to push the shows back until next year. I also had to stop teaching my writing classes in person and start teaching online. Also in April I had to deal with two of my best friends trying to commit suicide. So by May I was already emotionally exhausted and completely fed up with 2020. Then on Monday May 25th, George Floyd was murdered by the cops. The viral video of the murder sent chills down my spine as I watched him beg for his life. I couldn't believe what I had just saw and how many other Black men and women have lost their lives to police brutality, murder and racism. My thoughts are always with you and your families and I'm so sorry your lives were unjustly taken away.
